An Owenism for Grandma N

Tonight Steve and I went to the county fair and left the boys with Erica, our awesome babysitter/friend.

When we got home, Owen was the only one awake and he was watching a movie.
I sat beside him on the couch and he was feeling very affectionate and snugly.
He cuddled up beside me and laid his head on my chest.

Then, he sniffs my sweatshirt.

"You went to grandmas house?" He asked.
"No" I said. "We went to the fair"

"Oh" he says.
"You smell like grandma's house"

I sniff my shirt quizzically. But seeing as how I have 2 pounds of cotton stuffed in my skull and nasal passages a cold, I can't smell much of anything.

"What does that smell like?" I asked.
"Like grandma's house"

So there you have it, grandma.

Not sure what scent he picked up off my sweatshirt that reminded him of grandma, but something sure did.

Probably sugar particles, since it's a rite of passage for grandma's to sugar up their grandkids.
Sweet treats=grandma's house! yessss!!

Steve's mom smells like a carny?

Wait a minute -- a CARNY - not sure I like that! And probably not sugar - possibly Downey - or my just sweet smell of gramma! Anyway I like the fact that he thought of me even if it was smelling of you.
