Catching up.

Liked the two little pigs; after huffing and puffing, third will be here soon. :0)

Thanks for the Photoshop lesson--maybe one day I'll be able to purchase it myself and make my pictures go...WOWZA! & SHAZAM!

How's the pooch?--Nowack's Cooper-Snooper, Anyone Got A Pooper Scooper. He should meet Porter's Scooter, Humper of Legs Young and Old.

I'm a Populist-Leaning Conservative???? And I'm confused about what that means exactly.

I don't like to discuss politics or religion either--mostly because my blogs would be too long, I'm not always completely sure what I'm talking about, I'm relatively new to politics having only voted since 1988, I'm still formulating my opinions, still trying to learn everything, everything changes and I'm known for putting my foot in my mouth on these subjects. But, I feel compelled to say a quick "diddy"...

I tend to opine (used that in Scrabble recently) that religion and politics are one and the same. Think back to the Pharisees and Saducees--and that was just Judaism, all the other religions have had/are having their politically-induced battles, as well. Then Christ died and brought justice and equality for all and messed them ALL up. The word Christian was born--a people that brought about morality not based in judgement or laws but based in love and knowledge; a people that brought help for sick and hungry, orphans and widows and which greatly improved society at the time. Their ACTS of love and common sense knowledge was based in their Savior. Rome was an awesome empire but was corrupt, run by tyrants and catered to the wealthy and educated. There was rampant sickness, disease, hunger, immorality, violence and death. Government began to despise Christianity because the people turned their loyalties elsewhere. Christianity helped equalize all and threatened the wealth and power of an evil empire.

Christianity changed the whole world. Christianity is not the problem. People are.

The problem is that some people began to tag themselves as Christians and interpret their Christianity the way they saw fit to benefit themselves. Alongside this, people began to believe the words of Pastors and Evangelists as God, and without checking and balancing against the actual words of Christ and in this way, Christianity was turned into a mere religion. Self-proclaimed Christians fell hard from grace and became hypocrites and other Christians damned them to hell without so much as a thought given to mercy, grace and forgiveness--and the world sat back and watched us all like a circus full of idiotic clowns. Then there was still another sect of Christians that were basically apathizers and were just glad they were getting into heaven and didn't want to get involved or delve into the deeper, complicated issues like prayer being taken out of the schools, 40 million babies being aborted, a President taking advantage of young girls in the White House, and too many politicians hijacking the Christian label to benefit their own agendas.

So now, a decade (or so) down the road, young Christian people are getting their voices and starting to make a fuss. We're still a little divided and confused about who we want to be as a whole and I think it's good that we're not all cookie-cutter, Sunday School Dick and Jane anymore.

There is enough churches out there for everybody and every walk of life. And I strongly proclaim that many conservative churches still have MANY issues to deal with before truly being worthy of calling themselves Christians in every aspect. I don't think abandoning all conservative thinking and taking up with the libs (who also happen to have political agendas and many hypocrites) is the answer. Moral issues are moral issues whether they are dealt with great or not-so great. It's the whole don't throw the baby out with the bathwater analogy.

Keeping that in mind, I have to ask, what shall we do during election-time with our Pastors? Muzzle them, lock them up, send them to the Vatican? Heaven forbid, our Pastors, whom we allow, expect even, to voice their beliefs on EVERY OTHER subject, not be allowed to also voice their views on candidates?!? I don't see how that's fair to them first as Americans, secondly as humans or fair to the position. If they're willing to take the flak, let them dish it out. Don't like the opinion? Either get over it or leave and realize that, for now thank a Soldier, we still have sort-of free speech in America--no matter your position. Worried about those that cannot think for themselves? That's a different issue altogether--one of education, I believe. I think that neither church attenders nor their leaders need to check their mouths, brains or spines at the door.

Many churches invite candidates into their churches on Sunday mornings and if that's not an endorsement, what is? Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT illegal for pastors to voice their opinions for political candidates from the pulpit unless they actually get paid to work for a candidate or campaign.

One last thing on the subject of Clint's(?) comment...the reason it seems that fundamentalists are pushing so hard these days is b/c the world and the lib media is pushing so hard and because we're not the apathetic types that many of our parents have been in years past.

America's youth is declining faster than even experts predicted years ago and if the push is not now, it may never be. There is an all-out spiritual war for the souls of our children and we should never be so naive as to think that there are not agendas out there and people low enough to exploit children to reach that agenda. I'm not sure I agree enough to call myself a Fundamentalist but many people might call me so. That doesn't matter here or there. I will fight with all I have for my children in whatever I believe to be right with God morally, politically, economically, environmentally, socially. Come hell, high water, libs, dems, right-wing wackos, legalists, hypocrites, or repubs hijacking Christianity.

But I don't get into politics or religon. :0)
