Yesterday, we told AJ that since he was 4 years old, he was a big boy now, and had to throw his binkies in the garbage. We rounded up all 3 of his remaining binkies and he said, "OooKAAAYyy" and walked over to the garbage and dropped them in.
And he hasn't cried or whined or asked for them since.
*Knock on wood*

Good Job AJ!
evil!!!
I then secretly scooped the binkies out of the trash and saved them in my china cupboard....i missed them so......
Funny, I saw one of those big, sour, candy binks yesterday at the store and I was drawn to it.
I sucked my thumb until I was ten years old. What was my Mom gonna do - cut off my thumb?
None of my kids sucked their thumbs, then Zac came along. He sucks his still but only when he sleeps, is worried or anxious. I loved that he did because he always calmed himself down and we were never in danger of losing it.
Ah, four...who decided that was "big boy age" anyway?
Hooray!!!
dan - evil us, for letting him have a binky for so long? evil plastics company for putting BPA in binkies? Evil us for making him throw it away? Clarification is needed.
ness - china cabinet? who has one of those? wait, I do....but it's a plastic tub in the attic.
amy - shout out to a fellow thumb sucker. I sucked mine till i was seven.
who decided four was "big boy"? The dentist. No more bink.
:)
I am comforted to hear about you thumb-suckers. Charleigh has a callous on hers from being constantly "plugged in."
The callouses! Zac gets them often and is tortured between sucking his calloused thumb and making it burn more or...you know...quitting.
